🦴 Behind the bones

About Felipe Femur & Friends

A kid-friendly monster world created by twin brothers Russell and David Dorn, combining writing, illustration, games, stories and activities.

Monsters turned inside out.

Felipe Femur began with an introverted skeleton living in a closet. From there came a whole town of ironic monsters: a toothless werewolf, a sun-loving vampire, a not-so-wicked witch, a lagoon creature afraid of water, a mute banshee, a mundane magician and more.

The idea underneath the jokes is simple: appearances and stereotypes do not tell you who someone is. Toonstone’s monsters have weaknesses, quirks, hobbies and friends—just like everybody else.

Built across books, games and comics.

The project expanded into children’s books, browser and mobile games, stories, printables, recipes, music, a webcomic and a large activity website. This 2026 rebuild is bringing those pieces back together.
